Zen Urges Urgent Reparation for Blasphemy at St. Peter’s

Cardinal Joseph Zen expressed his support for the Catholic Identity Conference, an annual gathering of bishops, priests, scholars, and lay Catholics defending the unchanging truths of the Faith.

He urged the faithful to seek the Lord’s forgiveness for the recent blasphemous act at St. Peter’s Basilica involving “LGBTQ+” activists. The Cardinal also called on them to make an Act of Reparation.

Cardinal Zen Denounces Vatican “LGBTQ+” Activists

“I saw in the news today that four bishops [Bishop Athanasius Schneider (Kazakhstan); Bishop Marian Eleganti (Switzerland); Bishop Robert Mutsaerts (Netherlands); Bishop Joseph Strickland (USA)] issued a statement, calling on everyone to seek the Lord’s forgiveness for this blasphemous act and to make an Act of Reparation.

I strongly support this. I suggest to all brothers and sisters that, after the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, it would be best to gather with fellow parishioners for three days to recite the attached prayers and perform an act of self-denial or a charitable deed, offering reparation before God for our brothers and sisters who have sinned.”

Prayer: Act of Reparation for the Blasphemy Against the Holy Year and St. Peter’s Basilica by “LGBTQ+” Activists

Most Holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—have mercy on us, wretched sinners.

We offer this act of reparation to Your divine majesty for the blasphemous acts committed in the Eternal City during this Holy Year—those who, with the permission of the Holy See authorities, “have turned the grace of our God into an opportunity for licentiousness” (Jude 1:4), transforming the Temple of Jesus, the Holy Door, and St. Peter’s Basilica into a stage for promoting homosexual debauchery, immorality, and sins against the sixth commandment of Your divine law.

They have even dared to “have the appearance of godliness but deny its power” (2 Timothy 3:5). With tears, we cry out to You with the words of the Psalm: “Remember Your congregation, which You acquired long ago, which You redeemed to be the tribe of Your heritage, and Mount Zion, where You have dwelt. Your foes have roared within Your holy place; they set up their emblems there.

They have burned Your sanctuary to the ground; they have defiled the dwelling place of Your name. How long, O God, is the foe to scoff? Is the enemy to revile Your name forever? Let not the downtrodden turn back in shame; let the poor and needy praise Your name” (Psalm 74:2–4, 7, 10, 21).

Lord Jesus, though we are wretched sinners, we wish, together with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, all the saints, and all devout believers in the world, to offer again the atoning sacrifice You presented to the Eternal Father on the Cross and which is renewed daily on the altar, as reparation and atonement:

Litany of Prayers

  • For those who have misused the Holy Year, the Temple of Jesus, the Holy Door, and St. Peter’s Basilica, turning them into a stage for promoting homosexual debauchery, immorality, and sins against the sixth commandment of Your divine law, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For the negligence of the Holy See authorities in these acts of blasphemy, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For those within and outside the Church who advocate for ideologies that legitimize homosexual debauchery, immorality, and sins against the sixth commandment, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For those cardinals, bishops, priests, and laypeople who openly demand changes to the eternal teachings of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, attempting to legitimize homosexual debauchery, immorality, and sins against the sixth commandment, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For clergy who misuse their authority and distort the true meaning of pastoral care to support the legitimization of homosexual debauchery, immorality, and sins against the sixth commandment, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For those clergy who, under the guise of pastoral accompaniment, refuse to teach the eternal truth of Your commandments, fail to call sinners to repentance, and allow them to remain in error and vice, risking eternal punishment, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For those clergy who encourage those openly living an “LGBTQ+” lifestyle to receive the Eucharist, causing them to “eat and drink judgment on themselves” (1 Corinthians 11:29), we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For all those who, unrepentant in their pride, offend You with a lifestyle of homosexual debauchery, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For all those who denigrate the beauty and goodness of the sacrament of marriage between man and woman as created by God, and who promote the moral and legal legitimization of homosexual unions and so-called “same-sex marriage,” we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For all those who blaspheme You by claiming that You created homosexual attraction, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!
  • For those clergy who, by blessing same-sex couples and extramarital unions, blaspheme Your holy name, Your commandments, and the sacrament of marriage instituted by You, we offer reparation and atonement! Lord, have mercy! Christ, have mercy! Lord, have mercy!

Final Prayer

Lord, we also beseech You to grant the grace of enlightenment and conversion to those brothers and sisters who, blinded by error and bound by vice, attempt to impose their will above Your divine will, demanding that the Church alter the eternal truth of Your commandments.

Lead them back to the embrace of Your holy will.

Lord, pour out the spirit of truth and repentance upon the shepherds and flock of Your pasture, that they may fear You, walk in Your ways, and love You (Deuteronomy 10:12).

May the world, through the words and deeds of Your holy Church, come to understand this liberating truth: “How radiant and beautiful are the chaste! Their memory endures forever, cherished by God and humanity” (Wisdom 4:1).

Lord, look upon Your Church, which has been humiliated by the blasphemy against the Holy Year, the Holy Door, and St. Peter’s Basilica.

Accept this act of reparation, behold the tears of the Immaculate and Sorrowful Virgin Mary, the blood of countless martyrs (especially those who died for chastity), and the suffering, sighs, prayers, and charitable acts of reparation of many faithful.

Grant that Your Church may once again shine with the radiance of universality, freedom, and chastity.

Most Holy God, Most Holy Almighty, Most Holy Eternal One, have mercy on us! Most Holy God, Most Holy Almighty, Most Holy Eternal One, have mercy on us! Most Holy God, Most Holy Almighty, Most Holy Eternal One, have mercy on us! Amen.

Kennedy Hall Book - What Happened to Catholicism

Featured Book of the Month

What Happened to Catholicism by Kennedy Hall argues that confusion and decline in the Catholic Church since the Second Vatican Council stem largely from modernist interpretations of doctrine, drawing heavily on St. Pius X’s warnings against modernism; it seeks to clarify these issues and calls readers back to traditional Catholic teachings, reverent liturgy, and doctrinal fidelity as the path toward renewal.
