11 Traditional Latin Mass Venues Approved in the Philippines

The State of the Traditional Latin Mass in the Philippines

Many Traditional Latin Mass (TLM) communities in the Philippines have faced unprecedented challenges in recent years. These are undeniably challenging times for Filipinos and visitors who cherish the Traditional Latin Mass (TLM).

The effects of the pandemic and new Vatican directives have greatly influenced the availability of the Usus Antiquior across the country.

The combined effects of the recent pandemic and the implementation of Traditionis Custodes have significantly impacted the availability of the Usus Antiquior.

Sadly, we have witnessed the closure of nearly half of the locations where the Tridentine Mass was once regularly celebrated.

Yet, even in the face of these trials, the flame of tradition has not been extinguished. By the grace of God, and through the continued support and permissions of our local ordinaries, several diocesan TLM locations remain active across our islands.

These surviving communities stand as quiet yet powerful witnesses to the enduring beauty and reverence of the Old Rite.

Active Diocesan Traditional Latin Mass Communities

In the spirit of supporting these existing Traditional Latin Masses in the country, I have compiled a list of active Diocesan TLM locations that continue to celebrate the Mass of the Ages with episcopal approval.

These include communities in Metro Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Davao, Iloilo, Southern Leyte, Baguio, and Bohol. I encourage you to explore these communities and attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass where possible.

You may visit the Facebook page of each Latin Mass community listed below by searching their names directly on Facebook. There, you’ll find their Mass schedules, announcements, and community updates.

Please note that two additional venues have chosen not to make their schedules public. We respect their discretion and ask for your prayers for their continued protection and growth.

For those who are informed about the canonical status of the priests of the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) and are seeking their chapels, you may refer to the following directories:

Ad Orientem: The Direction that Changes Everything

May 5, 2026

Peter Kwasniewski

This booklet explains the Mass as central worship and highlights eastward prayer as essential, not optional, showing how liturgical direction shapes understanding, reverence, and focus on God rather than human-centered celebration.
