About Killing Me Softly: The Inspiring Story of a Champion of the Poor
Killing Me Softly: The Inspiring Story of a Champion of the Poor is the deeply personal autobiography of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz during the final years of his life as he battled amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Rather than viewing his illness as a defeat, Father Schwartz embraced it as a final offering to God, uniting his suffering with Christ while continuing to guide the Sisters of Mary and care for the poor. With humility, courage, humor, and profound faith, he reflects on pain, death, trust in Divine Providence, and Marian devotion, leaving behind a moving testimony of holiness, perseverance, and joyful surrender to God’s will.
